Description
The Brewery of Saint Mars of the Desert was inspired by the earliest “craft breweries” of Europe: that first generation making beers in disused 19th century breweries with a pioneering spirit, unmoving passion and an almost avant-garde creativity. We relocated from America to the city of Sheffield in South Yorkshire to make this dream a reality and haven’t looked back.
As a very small two-and-a-half person brewery, making world class beers and sharing them fresh with the public is about all we have time for. But who needs more than that?

440ml can, hops not given but their social media says Saaz and Sladek used in this batch. Pours clear golden amber with a big frothy white head. Aroma of doughy bready malts, grassy hop. Taste is malty, bready, slightly sweet, hops are grassy and herbal, mild citrus zest, peppery spice, finishing with a fairly assertive bitterness. Medium bodied. Excellent lager.

Another personal whale, this exceeded my expectations. Absolutely classic Belgian-style saison. Think Blaugies, Glazen Toren, with earthy and floral hops. Dry as a bone and beautifully bitter. Aggressively hopped and endlessly drinkable. Perfect.

Can at home picked up from hotm. A hazed brushed gold coloured pour with a a lively frothy white head. Aroma is earthy cereal, dusty grain store, light apple, cut grass. Flavour is composed of light earthy grains, green cereal, dusty grainstore, light chalk, green apple notes. Palate is semi sweet, crisp, chalky bite, highish carbonation. Lovely lager bier.
