Bottles: Reddish-amber coloured with a medium-sized, slowly diminishing yellowish head; complex nose, as usual: dark dried fruit with a tinge of alcohol, dark malt with traces of wine and traces of chocolate; full sweet-bitter flavour, full bodied; fruity, vinous and sweet malty finish with a delicate bitterness, that keeps it balanced, in the aftertaste. (One year old version - best before 11.7.06 : more vinous, maltier, less bitterness in the aftertaste, all in all a bit softer, and a little bit better rounded !) A fine Bock, good as a "fresh" brew, good as a well aged "old" Bock.............

(bottle) Slightly hazy, yellow to pale golden colour with a fluffy, slowly lacing foamy white head. Dusty and yeasty, slightly herbal and floral hoppy aroma on a malty background. Sweet-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Grainy, cereal-like taste, slightly strawy and yeasty; dry, grainy, slightly bitter, but aromatic herbal, slightly floral finish hoppy finish. Pretty quaffable and moreish brew, a very good session beer. Probably the pasteurised and bottled version of the Zwickel Bier, which has to be confirmed.

(bottle) Hazy, orange colour with a fluffy foamy white head. Dusty, sweet, moderately wheaty aroma with cloves, a touch of vanilla and a rather restrained fruit-character of light notes of banana. Medium-sweet flavour, medium bodied, well-carbonated mouthfeel. Yeasty taste with a solid wheat-character, restrained fruity with stronger clove phenols. Medium-dry, wheat-malty, slightly fruity finish with vanilla and dominating clovy notes. Lacks a bit of balance towards the fruitiness. Still pretty drinkable.
