Biggish white shiny head. Deep yellow hazy body with carbonation. Chalky faintly bananaish aroma with rubbery notes. Dry watery rubbery papery taste with faint banana notes. Light acidity. Same aftertaste. Not a success: too watery and too empty. No real off tastes, though. (0.5l bottle, Thüringer Hof, Leipzig.)

Medium beige lasting head. Amber hazy body with carbonation. Light roasty bananaish aroma with spicy peppery notes. Dryish-sweetish roasty papery bananaish taste with fruity notes. Very light acidity. Mild mouthfeel, mild taste. Full-bodied. Dryish chalky fruity aftertaste with light hop notes lingers. Nice. (0.5l bottle, Thüringer Hof, Leipzig.)

Small white head quickly disappears. Yellow body. Thin mealy aroma. Dry-acidic mealy straw and rubber taste with light hoppy notes. No real aftertaste. Thin-bodied. Did not enjoy. (0.33l bottle, Thüringer Hof, Leipzig.)

Draft at a club in Niles, IL with Polish clientele, that seems to keep in rarely-distributed German beers along with the Okocim and Zwyviec. But server knew little about the beer, and I only had the blue checkerboard on the tap handle to tell it was supposed to be an Oktoberfest beer. Poured in a Maisel’s weiss glass, it sure appeared to be a weizen to me. And I see by the other ratings that this is indeed one of the sickly pale lagers now being passed off in Germany as Okto bier. So, a pale pils color with a short-lived white head. Clean beer with very little besides a lightl malt smell. A bit of hop sharpness, perhaps bigger than I’m thinking as there’s little malt to balance it. I kept thinking I had notes of lemon and weizen spices. Okay on draft.

5,5 % ABV. The bottle looks really good, the beer in the glass also. Starts spicy, the finish is a bit metallically, hard, a little nit alcoholic. The first gulp is better than the last.
