Sweet and sticky toffee with vanilla and sweet bourbon. Fruity cherry and dry liquor.
Cherry, toffee, big black pepper. Sweet toffee lingering with floral rum that adds a big spicy strength. Sticky and filling with a medium-full, not syrupy texture. That floral drying with pepper is intense on the finish. Somehow paled slightly only by the sheer majesty of DB Cosmic Cliffs.

Bottle with membership group!!!! Inky black with nice viscosity. Aroma is strong, mellow bourbon, hint of chocolate. Taste is strong bourbon, cherry/dark fruit, slightly peaty malt, mild toffee. Smooth, silky texture, soft carbonation, finish as taste. How the hell is this 16.6%? Bourbons are lovely and completely smooth. Other elements from the base stout. Lovely sipper.

Smells incredible. Fudgey Bourbon for days. Dry spice to balance. No alcohol. Pretty chocolatey with a touch vinousness.
Soft, sweet, succulent and balanced with good, spicy acidity. But of prune, bit of char, light cigar. Spicy, sweet, luscious bourbon and no heat. Maybe just a touch, touch sweet, if I have to be constructive. But just a wealth of flavor and near perfect barrel for expression.

Head immediately fizzles out. Dark. Clear.
I'm not getting a lot of the unrefined sugar nose that I get in nearly all of their non-BA barleywines and stouts. Or not much of it, at least. More of a vinous character with big fudge and light mallow-like sugar. Some light acidity does seem to perk up and potentially balance, though I'm skeptical. Not boozey. Not really a lot of salted caramel, but that's fine with me.
Espresso-laced caramel with low salinity but good bitterness. Mallow and vanilla notes crowd in as fudgey chocolate sweetness begins to overwhelm. Light prune, tobacco, salt and a good deal of sugar on the finish, with a slightly syrupy, chewy body. No alcohol noted. I mean, for their non-BA stuff, this is like in the 90th percentile for least amount of sugar, but, unfortunately, that standard is so low that it still has a ton of sugar. I've had 4 or 5 sips and will now be dumping it all.

Can from trade with ClarkVV--thanks, Clark! Deeply hazy bluish dark green, nice sparkle, fizzy head with fair retention, light lacing. Aroma is strong rum, salinity, tart fruit. Taste follows aroma but more sweet fruit than tart. Smooth, frothy texture, soft carbonation, finish as taste. Slight alcohol warming. Pretty good.

Black with a dark head that fizzles off quickly. Molasses, oak, whiskey, vanilla, toasted bread, soy, umami, and light sweetness tying everything together. The body was a tad thinner than expected but still medium-thick. Finish has loads of booze and is quite hot. Lovely beer but the alcohol overpowers it quite a bit. Would really benefit by being a couple points lower to let the rest of the beer shine.

(On tap) Black with small tan head. Amazing aroma of bourbon and cocoa. Full bodied, smooth, slightly sticky with fine carbonation. Taste of toffee, red wine, bourbon and nice alcohol in finish. Excellent.
