Description
The brewing tradition in Helsinki is hundreds of years old. The latest chapter of this story began in 1995 on the island of Suomenlinna right outside of the city. It is here that a one man brewery was founded in the former jetty barracks. The brewery has grown to be home for a small group of dedicated professionals, all passionate about beer culture in Finland. Now Suomenlinna Brewery is one of the largest local breweries in town.

The rich history at this UNESCO world heritage site has been the inspiration for many new beers at Suomenlinna Brewery. Each beer and cider we brew has its own story to tell. When professional attitude and modern technology are combined, the end results are bold, honest, high quality drinks. Our special releases are a sign of our inspiration to create and to try new things.

(Keg at Stones, 20141008) The beer poured amber and hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had citricness, fruitiness and pine. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, pine, malts, creamy toffee and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy and bitter. A nice, balanced hoppy pale ale with low ABV.

Bottle. Frothy White good mostly lasting head. Dark yellow colour. Moderate malty and heavy hoppy herbal aroma. Heavy bitter wonderfull grassy flavor. Long heavy bitter finish. Creamy palate. my kind of ipa.

Bottle @ Johns. Pours golden with a offwhite head. Aroma of malt, little caramel, fruit, grass. Flavor is malt, caramel, fruity hops, grass. Medium body, average carbonation. 300914

Bottle, 6%.. Slightly hazy amber/orange with small off-white head. Aroma is malt, caramel, toasted and hop. Flavour is malt, caramel, toasted, meidum sweet, hop and medium bitter.

Bottle @ Aarhus tasting. Clear golden with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty and moderate hoppy - citrus. Flavor is medium sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and moderate bitter finish. 300914

Bottle. Nice head with good duration. Color is light amber. Aroma and taste are fruits, hops, flowers, malt and has a nice bitter fruity finish.

Bottle 0.5l from local market, Helsinki. Colour is clear golden with small white head. Aromas and flavours: Grain, caramel, some hops and malts. Quite dull.
