Description
Cellarmaker Brewing Company has been in the works for quite some time. Look for our beers to start making their way around better known beer bars and beer focused restaurants in San Francisco starting in September.
We have a tasting room in the same building as the brewery and will offer tasters, pints, and growlers. Some beers may be bottled further down the line but for now it's all draft. The only way you can take our beer away is in the form of a growler - which by the way, is a great way to drink beer!
Look for a focus of plenty of hoppy beers, belgian-style saisons, dark beers, and sour beers. We are huge fans of wine and bourbon barrel aged beers as well so it's only natural for us to have a barrel program. Think bourbon barrels loaded with big chewy imperial stouts, excessively hopped IPAs, fruited sour beers, and funky saisons. This is what we love. This is what we are all about. We hope you are too!
Please follow along for the ride as we build San Francisco's next great brewery.
Cheers!

Tap at TRB. pours inky black, medium brown head, dissipates fairly quickly, decent lacing. Bourbon vanilla and chocolate nose, touch of coconut. Flavor is fairly sweet, medium bitter, rich and yummy. Lots of barrel, vanilla, coconut, mocha, some cherry. Fairly full body, creamy mouthfeel. A bit hot, but not bad. Lingering bitterness.

From a growler courtesy of popery. Aroma is very hop forward with a light, pale malt background note. Aroma has a bit of a grapefruit note with some melon and tropical fruit, but also a spicy note similar to a hot pepper but without the green bell pepper character. A unique hop profile. Pours a fairly clear, yellow gold with a large, rocky, slightly off-white head that exhibits decent retention as it recedes to a thin film that lingers. Moderate lacing and small legs. Flavor has a light sweetness with medium light, pale malt and cracker notes. Medium high bitterness with quite a bit of hop flavor. Lots of grapefruit and hop resin with lighter melon and tropical fruit notes. Hints of the spicy character that was rpeaent in the aroma. Some orange and peach present as well. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice IPA with a really unique hop character. Tons of hops with a nice background malt flavor. This beer is delicious and I am not picking up any diacetyl.

The beer is a dull fairly pale orange amber color with a smallish white head. Very cloudy. The aroma is berries, grapes, pineapple and a little spicy grass-pine mix. Very dank. Really just a ton of hops. Very pleasant. Hugely juicy hop flavor. Moderate bitterness. Really, really good. Big gentle mineral flavor. Soft feel. Lowish carbonation. Whatever minerals are knocking around in the water softens the feel perfectly. I also tried the Vinnie Special hop cask version. Sweeter hop presence. More of a honey-ish presence. Very tasty twist on the beer.

The beer is black, wall to wall. Small brown head. Some nice dark lacing on the glass. The aroma has light coconut, sweet cream and fudgy chocolate. Some piney hops show through the stout flavors. Roast is mild. Just a touch of booze. Taste starts sweet and ends with a moderately bitter finish. Chocolate and caramel dominant in the taste. Booze is a bit more present here and gets in the way of things a bit. Mild tannic oak quality. Mouthfeel is smooth but a little thin. Just gets a little bitter and thin with a bit too much booze. Doesn’t quite live up to the aroma. Still, this is an excellent effort for their first really big stout.
