Description
Fonta Flora Brewery integrates the soul of agriculture with the artisanship of zymurgy to create a menagerie of rustic and savory libations. With an emphasis on seasonal flora, Fonta Flora brings English tradition and Belgian inspiration to the Appalachian mountains of North Carolina.

Fonta Flora utilizes local artists to help conceptualize the notion that fermentation is yet another medium for creating art. This uniquely artisan approach to beer yields a sustainable product filled with culture from our very own community.

Bottle thanks to Nick. Pours a cloudy gold with small off white head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is strong funk, cheese, vinegar. Medium mouth, nice funk, brett, tart finish, very good.

Bottle in Glenwood Springs with Steve_0, thanks to jcnielsen for the NC Homer of the Month snob bier. Milky yellow appearance with a tiny white head. Aroma is heavy stinky socks, cheese, passion fruit, and guava. Tons of funk. Carbonation is a little low. Moderately high sourness. Lots of tropical fruit, acid, pineapple, and cheese in the flavor. A little bit of burner. Dialed in, this could be real good. Shows promise. A little too sour and carbonation is a little low. Fun to try. Thanks Jetson!

Location: Draft at the brewery, 1/4/15

Aroma: It has a fruity aroma, cranberry, a little orange, spice, and lots other stuff going on
Appearance: Pours a clear light orange color, with a small off white head, and light lace
Flavor: The flavor is similar to the nose, quite completed, medium sweet
Palate: The body is medium, it has a pretty nice mouthfeel overall
Overall Impression: I thought this worked quite well. I thought it might be too weird or have too much going on, but it works somehow.

Location: Draft at the brewery, 1/4/15

Aroma: Has a fairly light aroma, with yeast/spice and beat notes
Appearance: It has a bright red poor, with a small white head
Flavor: Lighter flavor as well, it is not particularly bitter or sweet, fairly simple
Palate: It has a drinkable, clean feel, and a softer carbonation compared to the other saisons
Overall Impression: I thought this one was pretty interesting. Not an overpowering beet flavor at all. It's more in the color than anything else. Good mouthfeel that is more dissimilar to the other saisions I had here than any of the others were to the group as a whole.

Location: Nitro at the brewery, 1/4/15

Aroma: It has a pretty nice aroma of roasted malts, sweet malts, and some hops
Appearance: This is a really great looking beer. It pours a deep, dark brown color, with a thick froth of brown head, that is super creamy and long lasting, with nice lace work
Flavor: The flavor is balanced, it is light sweet, with some roast, and a light bitterness
Palate: Very smooth, with a creamy feel, on the lighter side, clean, easy drinking, lightly dry finish
Overall Impression: This a really nice looking beer for sure. The aroma and flavor are nice, and the nitro treatment works well.

Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 8 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 8

Location: Draft at the brewery, 1/4/15

Aroma: The aroma is heavy yeast/spice, with some mild saline
Appearance: Pours a cloudy yellow-white color, small white head, light lace
Flavor: The flavor is along the same lines, balancing the saison yeast/spice and the saline
Palate: It has a fairly lively carbonation, and a dry, tingly finish
Overall Impression: This one is almost a saison/gose hybrid. Which is kind of a brilliant idea. I really enjoyed it.
