Dark brown. Nitro head. Toasty, slightly nutty aroma. Ok, a bit muted from the nitro, but civilized.

Tart, lactic, kind of basic, not getting a big mixed ferm character. So it’s clean, okay, but not going anywhere.

Gold and bright. Medium head. Lots of pale malt, good bread, mellow herbal hop. On the hoppy side of maibock (it’s Stoup) but does it well.

Gold and bright. Kettle sour nose and it falls flat on the palate too. Also, not enough hop. It kind of gets nowhere.

Medium amber and bright. Medium head. Biscuity malt nose, light herbaceous hop. Mild fruitiness of yeast. A touch of crystal malt, moderate bitterness, slight marmaladey note. A very stoupaceous take on the winter ale, I like it.

Gold and bright, thick head. Good pale malt, maybe a touch sticky. Light citrusy hop…balance a bit too far to the sweet for me but it’s not bad.

Aroma has notes of pineapple, tangerine, bread. Taste has a moderate pithy bitterness with tropical, piney flavors.

On tap at Stoup - Ballard, pours a deep dark brown / near-black with a small tan head. Aroma is fairly dry, with dusty dry toasted malt, with only subdued earthy hops. Flavour is more expressive on the hops, with piney and earthy hops, backed by dry toasted malt. I want more roast and more hops, but the balance is good and the beer is satisfying overall.

On tap at Stoup - Ballard, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma is fairly dank on the hops for an APA, with gentle pine and crisp biscuity malt. Flavour is potent as hell for an APA, with big dank hops, some pine, and crisp biscuity malt. Wonderfully potent hops and excellent malt backbone.

Side pour on tap at Stoup - Ballard, pours a clear amber brown with a large beige head. Aroma has plenty of bready malts, a touch of red fruitiness. Flavour is much the same, with red fruits, dry bready malt, and a hint of caramel. Well-constructed and drinkable, with solid malt presence.
