Sea Dog India Pale Ale, brewed by Shipyard in Portland, Maine. 5.7%. The Loop Hotel, Zagreb, courtesy of and shared with Hrabren (thanks!). Golden body with a white head. Sweet, peachy malty, sugary perfumey aroma. Bitterish taste, perfumey, notes of honey and bread, light gum, herbal, nicely balanced, drinkable and tasty even feeling the ravages of time. And you gotta love the label!

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, no bottle dating. Pours slightly hazy golden yellow color with a 1-2 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of blueberry, wheat, cracker, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of blueberries, pale malt, and earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of blueberry, wheat, cracker, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Light earthy/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of blueberry, wheat, cracker, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Good robustness and balance of blueberries, pale malt, and earthy hop flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Not too dry after the finish. Medium carbonation and light-medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and slightly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 4.7%. Overall this is a nice fruit wheat. All around good balance and robustness of blueberries, pale malt, and earthy hop flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. I would have preferred to see some wheat yeast influence in the flavors for a bit more complexity; but it was still a nicely enjoyable offering.

Bottled 355ml. -from Pivoteka Zagreb as Sea Dog India Pale Ale; 5.7%ABV. Probably this is right one. Dark golden (almost cooper) coloured, small off-white head, fruity nose. Moderate malty, biscuity, fruity hoppy and some floral notes with pretty strong bitterness in the finish and aftertaste. Slightly perfumed but pleasant.

Bottle. As Kennebunkport Blueberry Wheat Ale. A lot of blueberry escapes the bottle immediately after popping the cork. It’s an almost clear one, golden in color and with a small, off-white head. The aroma is rather bad I think, it almost feels like puke someone tried to hide by spraying it with perfume. It’s much the same in the flavor, but slightly better and more blueberryish. Medium body, quite dry and with a soft carbonation. Puke-like, perfumed blueberry finish. Sure a beer I couldn’t finish. 150610
