Tap at CBM Koenji. Smoked ham and honey aromas dominate with a touch of strawberry jam in the background. Well-balanced on the palate. Nice lingering finish with some smoked caramel and fruit. Lovely!

Tap at DC Hama. Light grainy nose with some light grass notes. Biscuity malts with a nice soft, slightly creamy mouthfeel. Not much hops on the finish but still a nicely done pils. Highly drinkable and solid for the style. But not enough hops for my liking. --- Beer merged from original tick of Tazawako Pilsner on 27 May 2016 at 22:17 - Score: 6. Keyaki Spring 2016. Gold with a pillowy whit head. Light clove and nutmeg aromas with the regular banana bread notes. Creamy on the palate. Easy drinking another great Japanese weizen. Bottle. Smoked balsamico and strawberry aroma, meaty. Hazy, Amber , low head. Good smoked berry flavor, they managed the umami note, medium light, mellow finish. Very interesting and Christmassy.

bottle, thanks jfb. Amber color with small head. Smoked pork, bacon. Balsamico. Very interesting. Taste is fruity and smoke, umami. No caramel, no roasted malts, very surprising. Nice!

Bottled. A dark brown beer with a tan head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt and bread. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, bread, and roasted malt, leading to a bitter finish.

Bottle at Yespr’s - fuzzy dark brown pour with off white head. Aroma and taste is sweet fruity and malty, nutty and caramel notes, bready sweet malty finish.

Pours pitch black with a huge tan head. Aroma is toasted malty and caramelish. Toasted malty. Smooth roasted malty and caramelish. Bitter and toasted malty finish.

On tap at CBM awajicho. Dark brown with a modest beige head that lasts. Toffee and toasted malts on the now. Average carbonation. Cola like mouthfeel. As it warms up a bit of prune comes out on the nose as well. Not bad at all.
