Description
Since 1870 our family, the Meens family, has been brewing its Alfa beers in the traditional way. Alfa Bier's brewing process is still the traditional brewing process. The recipe, the method of brewing and the raw materials have consciously never changed, because we do not compromise on the quality of our beer. Alfa is the only brewery in the Netherlands to have 100% pure spring water from an officially recognized source. That water from our own source determines the special, pure and full taste of our Alfa Beers.

Bottle @ a tasting session. Ruby brown colour, off-white head. Aroma of roasted malts and caramel. Flavour is very metallic, roasted malts and some dark fruits. Quite bitter. Bit thin. Don’t like the metallic flavour at all.

Bottle. A very soft and smooth malty and herbal pilsener, nice hops. But all their beers have a very metallic flavour, and I don’t like that at all.

Courtesy of bierkoning, thanks Edo! Golden color, good white creamy head. Papery malty aroma with some iron. Sweet maty flavor - metal and grassy hops too. Quite standard sweetish heller bock.

500 ml. can from Trader Joe’s. Light aromas of grain and noble hop. Pale golden color with a two finger head. Medium body with creamy carbonation. Flavor is lightly sweet malt with just enough bitter to balance. This is not strongly flavored, but it is pleasant, and the grassy bitter tends to build as things move along. Doesn’t come near most pilsners, but it certainly doesn’t have the "corn" of many mass products. Buy this if you want a decent, light tasting beer. The head even did a little lacing.
