Bottle from local AH. BB 10-04-2021. Hazy golden color, short frothy head. Aroma has wheaty malts, some zesty citrus and some spices. Wheat dominates in flavor, even a bit cardboard already, slight citrussy bitterness. Finishes slight sticky, but also dry of the spices. More malt forward for a wit and not as refreshing as I hoped it would be with these summer temperatures

Helder roodbruin, kastanjeachtig, met witte kraag. Zoete mouten, bruine randjes van ontbijtkoek, abrikozenjam, duinroos, goedkope douchegel, droog kartonnige afdronk. Heel erg zoet maar toch ook een stevig pak bitterheid. Middelmatige sappig moutige body met licht/ gematigd koolzuur. Syropig bruin zoetje in de dubbel ben ik nooit zo’n fan van, hier ook niet en het is net je bakkes vol zoete shampoo. Het bittertje is een welkome tegenhanger maar ik krijg er een suiker-doortrokken bek van met tintelende lippen. Zoete rommel dus.

Bottle. Slightly unclear deep gold beer with a dense white head. Restrained but pleasant aroma with gentle citrus, hay, light dough. Fair bit of body, medium high carbonation. Some stone fruit joins the citrus. Moderately sweet with a bit of a booze-assisted lean towards dry at the end. Balanced with slightly spiced bitterness nipping in at the end. Good but no thriller: Stolid.

13 December 2019. Christmas Beer Evening with the lovely Anke! Pours hazy amber with a lasting, very small, foamy, off-white head. Aroma of cinnamon, speculoos, biscuit, caramel, raisin, clove, candied banana. Taste has sweet caramel, candied banana, biscuit & brioche, softly bitter spicy cinnamon & clove. Ends with herbal hops, caramel, cookie & softly warming liqueur alcohol. Medium body, oily texture, fizzy carbonation. Good semi-strong Belgian Ale.

Bottle from Beerwulf. Pours a murky very dark brown colour with a thin to medium sized creamy beige head. Nice lacing. Aromas of chocolate, nuts, caramel and roasty notes. Taste has more of the same notes as the aroma with added dry dark fruits coming through. Medium bodied and a fairly smooth very slightly oily mouthfeel. Nice one

Beim ersten Schluck ahnt man schon, dass das kein deutsches Weißbier sein kann. Fruchtig, leicht metallisch, floral und hopfig. Sehr viel, sehr feinperlige Kohlensäure, die den recht leichten Charakter dieses Biers kaschiert. Ist OK. Macht aber auch klar, warum die Niederlade nicht unbedingt als die Nummer 1 Weißbiernation gelten.

Fluffy off white head stayed on a hazy reddish brown still body. Syrup, berries, spices & toffee aroma. Medium bodied, sharp on the front with smooth creamy back. Toffee, jam, berries, spices, malt & syrup tastes. Really nice Red.
