Description

Bottle. Nice head with good duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are sweet chocolate, a bit artificial, but not too bad. Also caramel, malt and hops. Sweet finish.

Bottle at a tasting. There is a pretty strong solvent off aroma and flavour, which mostly ruins the beer. Otherwise this seems to have been a pretty good beer originally, with a decent underlying malty complexity. Not good as is unfortunately. I would like to rerate someday.

330ml bottle [Cuvée 2013]. Minimally cloudy, redd-ish brown colour with small, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white to beige head. Tart-ish fruity and mellow malty aroma, notes of cherry, morello, red berries, hints of plum and blue grapes, a vinegar touch, sweet-ish, caramel malty background. Taste is sweet-and-sour fruity and minmally sugary, caramel malty, notes of cherry, morello, red berries, a touch of blue grapes, plum and lemon, fruit and citric acid, dry oaky overtones, sweet caramel malty basis. Minimally watery texture, smooth and soft palate. Well balanced overall, fairly complex, maybe a tad too sugary sweet, but accordingly highly drinkable. Nice.
