Can picked up at Kihoskh, shared at home with the Mrs - hazy orange pour with a white head. Sweet juicy fruity with prominent pineapple, and a nicely balanced layering of coconut throughout, medium body, solid hoppy and pineapple and coconut infused finish. Does what it says. Fun stuff.

Can at Craft Kave. Pours a near clear gold with visible carbonation and a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has sweet guava with a hint of tartness and wheat underlying. Flavor has earthy wheat and tart guava with a touch hay and yogurt.

12 oz. can. Very fizzy pour. Solid black body, with fizzy head that’s gone just like that. Acidic sour taste with very little fruit to it. Nose is of the acidulated wheat of a Berliner Weiss. Incredibly tart, so be prepared and only try if that’s what you like.

Just a taster at Noon Whistle. Murky brown body, not much like a stout at all, more like a reddish porter. But I should not judge by appearances. Fruity and a a bit spicy in the nose. Yes, something in the neighborhood of an Italian dessert. Taste is kind of creamy, has some milk, actual milk, it tastes like, to it. Notes of ladyfinger, coconut, and cinnamon. While I’m trying this at 9:30 at night, with the smell of malt from the brewery still hanging in the air, that may be incompatible with the flavors I’m supposed to get out of this. Yes, this is one of those “pastry stouts” the real beer geeks turn their noses up at. It may be a bit overdone, but it is kind of nice. Might not be a favorite, but I’m happy to have tried it.

Taster at Noon Whistle. Heavy nose of Citra and Mosaic, to be sure. Pale gold color, thin ring of foam around the edge. This one does taste a bit more “dry” than the Miskatonic Cyromancer. Sharp hops in the palate, lots of pine and lupus in, mostly. Clean malt taste that does not linger at all, leaving more room for the hops to be pushy with my taste buds. Like a brut, it’s pretty bubbly (okay, gassy). Leaves a lot of hop bitterness in my mouth as it goes down. Maybe only slightly different, but pretty pleasant.

Taster at Rotary GroveFest Beer Garden, Downers Grove. Amber brown body, with just a little haze. Tartness on the tongue is pleasant. Could have used a little more fizz to go along with the sourness, but that's okay. Sourness seems closest to a green apple. More malt to it than the average sour ale, and a bit too hearty on a hot day like this. But fine.
