Poured from a 12 oz can. Aroma is rather sweet with a bit of a malt character. It kind of reminds me of a fresh doughnut. Medium light coffee note, rather fruity with a light nutiness. Pours a hazy orange with a bit of rust. Small, thin white head quickly recedes to the edges where it lingers. Light lacing and fairly long legs. Flavor is fairly sweet with a lot of malt character, both pale cracker malt and corn. The sweetness is a bit like a very sugary drink. Low bitterness with low alcohol spice; the alcohol is well hidden. Medium light coffee character that adds a bit of a fruitiness. Mouthfeel is medium full bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and and medium low alcohol warmth. Overall, an alright beer but it?s pretty sweet and the coffee is not super apparent. The alcohol is well hidden making this easy to drink, but it?s pretty sweet.

On tap at Goodnight Irene’s in Wildwood, NJ. Sweet toasted malt nose. Flavor is big on spices. Cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom and the like. Can’t really taste the butternut squash. A bit buttery, though. Decent, but just another pumpkin ale style.

Draught at Edison Ale House, Newark, NJ; 10oz
Hazy golden color with compact head. The aroma is a bit sweaty and animal. Lean body, nice flavor of pale malts, simple, but it’s a right choice for these beers; the hopping is very powerful, strong bitterness, strong resiny character, moderate animal, lighter fruity.
Tastes like a regular IPA, not a double. Very nice and fresh though.

Growler from the brewery pours a murky amber with some frothy, white head. Nose is very gristy, almond skin, nutty, a little oily sesame. Flavor follows, almond, gristy, biscuit, brown sugar. Oily finish.

12oz can from the brewery pours a clear, light bronze with some cloudy, white head. Nose is sweet, quite corny, candy, loads of medium roast coffee bean, mild butterscotch. Flavor has loads of caramel, butterscotch, loads of blonde coffee bean, very corny, roast parsnip. Full bodied, sticky finish. This may have been better at 8%.

16oz can I picked up at the brewery, pours a clear orange with some creamy, white head. Nose is very musty, pine needles, flower pollen, orange, soap. Flavor is the same, honey, malt, pine, orange, some guava, a little yuzu. Medium bodied, bitter finish.

Growler I picked up at the brewery pours a watery black with some cloudy, white head. Nose has milk chocolate, mild toast, some molasses. Flavor follows, malty, molasses, brown sugar, milk chocolate. Finishes thin. Drinkable.

Tap at RnH, Nyc. Clear yellow color, small white head, lace. Aroma has pumpkin and berries. Light-bodied. Herbal, some sweetish berries, spices, pumpkin. Alcohol in the finish. Does not work for me.

Tap at RnH, NYC. Deep amber color, medium-sized off-white head. Aroma has resin, pine and some caramel. Medium-bodied. Piney, resiny hoppyness with some earthy notes. Cant trace rye here, otherwise decent ipa.
