From tap at the brewpub. Pours hazy dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is roasted malty, light chocolate and breadish. Bitter, hard roasted, breadish and light toffee malty. Mild chocolate note. Dry, bitter and hard roasted finish.

Aroma: It has a roasted malt nose, with coffee, milk, and chocolate
Appearance: The pour is brown with fairly minimal head/lace
Flavor: The taste is roasted over sweet, malty, light bitter finish
Palate: The body is medium-plus, smooth, creamy cask feel, and dry finish
Overall Impression: I liked this one. I found out later (there's a video) that the roasty over sweet was completely the intention, in which case they did a very nice job of making the beer they were trying to make.

At the stagshead sour night this is what I was most excited to try and am still sad because of it. Pours ugly looks like peach juice if i had to describe. The smell is the worst mostly bile/vomit. The taste isn’t that bad i don’t get wasabi but some green apples, sweet tarts, leaves, and citrus. The issue is it smells so bad that it makes it hard to take sips. I really enjoyed Cartons other offerings but big miss

Hope Devil Grille, NY tap ($6.50): Pours golden with a white head. Aroma is hops, bread, and yeast, simple but well done. Taste is nice and bready with a hoppy undertone. I was almost surprised by this. Had an underlying complexity to it. Some sips almost tasted like a Belgian ale.

Blind Tiger, NY tap ($7.50): Pours pale, cloudy, yellow with a white head. Aroma is green apple and vinegar... a very familiar aroma, but not so much in beer. Taste is slightly sour. Kind of tastes like sour apple candy, but more organic like. Easy-drinking and refreshing. Kind of weird.

Aroma: The nose is clean hops, pine, some hops, but a little disappointing
Appearance: It has a clear orange pour with a small head and some spotty lace
Flavor: The taste is light sweet and medium bitter, there's some resin flavor that comes though
Palate: This one is medium bodied, it has average carbonation, and a dry finish
Overall Impression: It's decent, but certainly not spectacular. I wanted a great DIPA, and I got an okay one. I just had higher expectations from a Carton DIPA considering how spectacularly they handled the hop profile of Boat Beer.
