Bottle shared with Laura. Dark brown color with a red hue slightly coming through. Smell and taste malts, dusty, plant-like. Malty bitters. Hmm not very good to be honest. Meh.

Very good, dense, just off-white head over veiled orange-golden beer with a greenish sheen. Bit pharmaceutical nose, herbal, dried... hemp, I suppose, sharp-ish. Sweet, and again this peculiar herbal flavour. Dried grain/kernels. Some acidity, mainly from the CO². Quite slick, very well-carbonated, giving a medium bodied impression. The special - hemp - flavour keeps determining this beer. It is not un-agreable, but it certainly doesn't invite to drink more than one. Txs to B&T for the gift!

Barley wines are fairly high in my estimation generally, barrel aged, it should only get better. My 33 cl bottle, attractive for sure what with the light dip of orange wax, came from a hospitable seller in the Netherlands. And the selected glass tonight is the Teku. I see an amber-brown body with a slender skim of complementary tan foam. The scent, rather fruity, grain and syrup. But the drink simply tops that. There is wheat bread, dates, cane sugar, raisins and an obvious alcohol influence from the rum barrels. Moderately dense for a barley wine, I like that. Close to the top for me in the style.

Black with a beige head. Roasted malts, bourbon and some hops. Sweet taste with a medium bitter hoppy bourbon finish. Really solid bourbon infused stout.
