Bottle. BW20. Color: Dark copper, creamy light brown head. Aroma: Dark malt, caramel, Cognac. Taste: Medium sweet dark malt, malty, caramel, dark dried fruit, oak and bit boozy Cognac. Hints of nuts' Light bitterness, going to over moderate bitter palate at long lasting finish. Bit sticky mouthfeel. Over medium body, below average carbonation. Nice complexity and good balance in between all flavours. A bit on the sweet side in the beginnng, but the upcoming bitterness makes a very nice finish. Good. Earlier Rating: 1/23/2019 Total Score: 4.2 Bottle. BW18. Color: Copper, dense and creamy light brown head. Aroma: Dark malt, caramel, vanilla, Cognac. Taste: Medium sweet dark malt, notes of nuts, vanilla, caramel, dark dried fruit, oak and bit boozy Cognac. Light bitterness, going to medium bitter palate at long lasting finish. Sticky mouthfeel. Full body, below average carbonation. Nice complexity and great balance in between all flavours. Very good.
Wat een rare mix. Net iets te veel cognac en die dan weer niet van een al te best kaliber. Of gewoon niet passend bij dit bier.
Wisselvallige brouwerij doet dit wel goed.

Basically the (Dutch style) 'lentebok' or spring Bock from this brewery in Purmerend, but simply called 'lentebier' (spring beer). Thanks to Craftmember for sharing. Snow white, creamy and very mousy, stable head on a cloudy straw blonde beer with beige hue. Aroma of ripe peaches, apricot, melon, raw dough, apple sauce, green mandarin, pear juice, grapefruit pith, white pepper. Sweetish onset, lots of apricot, ripe pear and peach impressions, touch apple, softish in carbonation; slick body, cereally and white-bready maltiness with a soft doughiness to it, maintaining a light-bodied, sweet but elegant profile, the finish being adorned with light spicy phenols and an earthy, leafy hop bitter tail, quite long and rooty - very atypical for a Dutch spring Bock, which is possibly the very reason why they called this simply a 'spring beer' instead... Quite nice, in all.
