(tap) clear light amber colour with a small white head; aroma of exotic fruit; citrus; unfortunately a very nice aroma is followed by a not very pleasant and harsh flavour with a long medium bitter finish

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, 2013 bottling. Pours moderately hazy ruby red color with a 1 finger dense light khaki head with solid retention, that reduces to a lace cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of raisin, plum, fig, brown sugar, toast, biscuit, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, orange peel, herbal, floral, and toasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of malt, spice, and fruity yeast notes; with solid strength. Taste of raisin, plum, fig, caramel, brown sugar, toast, biscuit, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, orange peel, herbal, floral, and toasted earthiness. Lingering notes of raisin, plum, fig, caramel, brown sugar, toast, biscuit, cinnamon, nutmeg, herbal, and toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice balance and complexity of fruity yeast, malt, and spice flavors; with a good malt/spice balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a lightly slick and smooth mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is a nice winter warmer style. Good balance and complexity of malt, spice, and fruity yeast ester flavors; and very smooth to sip on. A nicely enjoyable offering.

12oz bottle. Brown-black body. Creamy beige head. Mellow chocolate aroma. Has a sharp bite up front, a sour coffee twang that could be mild infection or it could be intentional. I can’t really get past that even though it has nice malt tones underneath, I just don’t enjoy the balance. Still drank it, just wouldn’t buy a six-pack.

Bottle: Pours clear, copper-red with a small, tan head. Malty, toffee aroma....ginger. Taste is ginger, spices, caramel, honey. Very nice, easy-going holiday brew. Tasty and mild despite the high ABV. A bit of whiskey in aroma and taste. Very good, it does provide a bit of warmth, all right.

12oz bottle picked up at Dutchs. Hazy, super murky unfitlered orange-tan-brown body. Thin, oily off-white head. Has a nice dry, citrus, feel. Grapefruit, orange peel. Not quite World Class, but a nice example of the classic American hops. Comes off pretty full bodied. Imperfect overall feel, some buttery undertones. Decent.

12oz bottle. Filtered, deep amber-copper body. Thinnish off-white head. Smooth and malty, pretty nice Winter beer. You definitely get some fruity flavors, the ginger, cinnamon, and orange-peel being quite prominent, but they are smoothed out by the honey. Balanced, malty, clean, no off notes. Very enjoyable.
