12oz bottle. Murky amaber-tan body. Thin, steady white head. Spicy sweet rye aroma. Clean malt-centered body. I’m not really that into amber malt or rye, but this is OK. A little wobbly, odd, but well settled in quality malt tones.

12 ounce bottle into dimpled mug, 2013 bottling. Pours fairly crystal clear orange amber color with a 1 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin lace cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big caramel, toast, biscuit, pear, apple, pepper, herbal, nuttiness, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance of malt and yeast ester notes; with good strength. Taste of caramel, toast, biscuit, pepper, pear, apple, nuttiness, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of caramel, toast, biscuit, nuttiness, pepper, pear, and apple on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and robustness of malt and yeast ester flavors; with zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a lightly creamy, smooth, and moderately crisp mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice oktoberfest style! All around well balanced and robust malt and yeast ester flavors; and very smooth to drink. A very enjoyable offering.
