Sampled at GABF 2013. Pours a clear gold with some white head. Nose is awesome, grassy, chive, scallion, pine, lemon. Flavor has lemon, grapefruit, pine, soap, scallion, light malt, grass. Clean, zesty finish. A favorite.

From a bottle, stronger first taste. Sweeter beer with a tad of cloying. Foamy head about 1/8th in thick. Yes, probably close to 6%. Mild sweetwater smell. Stronger okto festy flavors, without being nasty. Has a tad of a kick on the cerebellum. Some co2. Finish is almost medicinal in nature.

12 ounce bottle into lager glass, no bottle dating. Pours slightly hazy golden amber color with a nice 1-2 finger dense white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of lemon, pear, apple, cracker, bread, floral, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of malt, hop, and yeast notes; with decent strength. Taste of lemon, pear, apple, cracker, bread, floral, grass, light honey, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Light earthy floral bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of light fruits, cracker, bread, floral, grass, light honey, light pepper, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and robustness of hop, malt, and yeast flavors; with zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth and fairly crisp mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish as expected of 4.8%. Overall this is a very good pilsner style. Good balance and robustness of flavor; and very smooth to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

12oz bottle drank out of a plastic glass in a hotel in South Dayton. Orange-brown...not much head in this vessel. Malty, smooth, clean, very drinkable for 6%. Straightforward, classic, well done. I could drink a lot of this.

12oz bottle. Opaque brown-black body. Thin, oily beige head laces the glass. Pretty surprisingly smooth for 9%, still really comes off as a Schwarz. Smooth brown chocolate tones, not sticky or brutal. Really quite an impressive offering, noteworthy for how smooth and sessionable it is. Clean. Great.

Nearly clear amber, with a short, quick, off-white head. Cedar/Pine aroma. Taste is spicy, bready, orange-sweet over herbal/leafy bitter. Ok, but mild for an Imperial.

Sample at Lucky’s in Dayton. The beer is a clear dark amber color with a medium off-white head that dissipates steadily. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of sweet malt, hops and caramel. Full-bodied with flavors of toasted malt, earthy hops and caramel. The finish is malty up front with a resiny hops aftertaste. Decent overall.
