12 ounce bottle from Secret Santa jmikolich. Thanks! Pours a clear amber color with a thin frothy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of big citrus hops with a bit of lemongrass and herbal notes. Caramel malts to balance. The taste is strong herbal hops with some lemongrass and citrus, and caramel malts. Faint tropical notes. Slight lingering bitterness, well balanced, medium bodied. Nice beer, as usual from these guys.

12oz bottle. Unfiltered murky orange-brown. Thin, oily beige head. Earthy almost mango tinged hop aroma. A pretty smooth, tasty, easy drinking IPA. Simcoes are really quite nice, sort of the bridge between old school super bitter varietals and new school NZ stuff. A quality offering. Maybe not the perfect mouthful but a great balance. A pretty nice IIPA.

Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle poured into a snifter. Pours light amber with small off-white head. Little lacing, medium body, low carbonation, and light tropical fruit aroma. Taste is grapefruit, some tropical fruit, and herbal hop finish.

Not bad for the style but that is faint praise indeed. +++ Sampled from a growler this beer poured a black color with a medium sized creamy dark tan head that lingered and left great lacing. The aroma was roasty and malty with moderate pine and floral hops. The flavor was tangy and roasty with notes of grapefruit, pine, lemon and Windex and faint touches of coffee and anise. Medium length roasty grapefruit and pine finish. Medium body. Decent.

0.65l bottle from my secret summer Santa Veldrid. This is a lovely looking oily jet-black one with a big creamy chocolate top that has some bubbles on the top of it. Looks amazing in the glass. In the aroma I get traces of dark chocolate, roasted and burned malts, sweet corn, cold coffee, cough pastilles, soy sauce and some leathery licorice. It's not extreme in a sense that it hits you in the face, more subtle and nuanced, but quite nice. It has a soft gently carbonated carbonation level and a thick oily, yet silky creamy and smooth mouthfeel. The flavors are mainly dark roasted with some burned traces, but there is also chocolate, dried blueberries and a soft cold coffee-acidity in this one. Ends surprisingly mouthdrying and almost a bit astringent. Lot's of flavor and a fine imp stout. 27.10.2012

fairly rare beer. big foaming head. doesn’t smell to strong, has a slight hop olfactory. big bitter impact, sizzly mouth coating stuff, wew. really sets in after a few moments. the head on this beer is king! yes big foaming nasty nellie of a bitte beer. the sizzle on this almost makes the terrible bitter linger acceptable. Finish as stated, long piercing bitter arrow down yer gullet. Must be more than 6%. uea, mays well call it a IPA.

On draught at World Of Beer. This beer is a clear dark amber color with a medium off-white head that recedes quickly to an outer ring. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of pumpkin and malt. Medium body with flavors of nutmeg, pumpkin and bready malt. The finish is sweet with a pumpkin aftertaste. Decent overall.

$2 at marinos in sylvania. Pour is a darker brown. Just a plain old beery smell. Has this malty thing going on in there but not sure if I taste any of those spices so promently mentioned in the description. At first I don’t think it is 8% but as the session continues it starts to warm my belly and the alky feeling in theh mouth starts to buiild. Stronger alky taste increases as session continues. Now I think its 8%! Not sure what to think of this, its gets a little medicinal near the finish. Yes, cannot taste cinnamon, nor honey nor orange peel, just simple strong malty beer. A little over the top in personality for this lager lover.
