On tap at Pub Italia. Golden coloured with lacing white head. Sweet perfumey malt in aroma, with light soapy hops. In mouth, crisp biscuity malts, with faint german hops, lacking in character. Hohum beer.

(Bottle 50 cl) Beautiful, clear fully golden with a creamy, white head leaving a pretty lacework. Very malty aroma. Good, full body with a distinct pale malt character and a dry, light hoppy finish. Solid German quality. 231205

Hazy orange-amber colour. White head. Hoppy aroma. Some hints of malt in the aroma too. Flavour is malty and a little breadish. Some fruitiness in the finish, but a little watery. Not a bad beer.

Bottle: Medium-sized, fluffy head, lacing, straw- golden coloured; grainy and a bit alcoholic nose; mild, slightly sweetish flavour; slightly bitter and a bit tart fruity finish; medium bodied; O.K., not very impressive, but better than the average bavarian Hell.............

Bottle. Molasses malt and banana-peach aroma - very nice. Cloudy orange-brown with moderate head. MIld sweet-sour malt and banana/apple flavor. A bit on the weak side. Would have gotten a near perfect score if it had a stronger dark malt flavor. Probably much better fresh. Still along with Franziskaner, the best German dunkelweizen you’ll find in the states. This rating in memory of Dortmunder - a great rater. You will be missed.

Bottle. Wunderfull creamy mostly lasting head. A bit sour aroma, gets better along the way. Also harsh flavour. Palate to fizzy. Not a fantastic hefe.

Test vom 20.10.2005, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 6,10,11,10,14,9 - 9,55
