28th October 2008. Slighty hazy brown beer. Mild and creamy. A distinct toffee note leads to the mildest of hop finishes. An extremely civilised pint!

50cl bottle - part of a multipack from Waitrose. Deep gold in colour with a white head; malty aroma; sharp malty flavour with a light bitter finish. A no-nonsense bitter.

Clear golden with good off-white head which disappears quite fast. Strong pleasant aroma which I can’t quite place - it reminds me of some confectionary I think; maybe it is the combination of caramel and fruity and hoppy aromas. Medium body with an initially creamy mouthfeel which became less distinct as the beer came to room temperature or the carbonation reduced. Rich sweet malty start with some balancing tangy notes moving to a reasonably bitter finish. A rather nice beer. [Another tasting three months later left me less impressed, finding the sweet caramelly malt and odd mix with the pils-like metallic vegetably hops.]

Cask at the Moon Under Water (JDW), Watford. Reddish copper in colour with a thin tan head; aroma of purple fruit; thick and oily texture with flavours of purple fruit and chewy malts; the finish is dry, fruity and lightly bitter. A satisfying pint.

23rd October 2008. Clear red brown beer with a light cream coloured head. Light fruity start - a little malty nuttyness. Semi dry finish which has a hop bitterness that blooms but doesn’t overwhelm. Crisp.

Cask @ GBBF 2009. Pours a clear amber color with a small off-white head. Has a slightly roasteed malty caramel aroma. Fruity malty caramel flavor with some weak hoppy hints. Has a fruity malty caramel finish with some bitterness in the aftertaste.

Very nice looking russet beer with a thick white head. Hint of malt on the nose, richer mouthfeel than expected and the opposite of thin (not thick, surely?). All in all a pleasant lunch-time pint, approaching a winter warmer.

Cask, Sandton Bridge Inn, Lake District. Was pleasantly impressed by this. Served in excellent condition. Amber colour with an off white head. Fragrant hoppy aroma. Clean and very fresh tasting. Citrus and more hop in the flavour with some gentle balancing malt.
