(Bottle 50 cl) Clear, reddish brown with a small, beige head. Sweetish, roasted malt aroma - like malt drops. Fairly light body with sweetish, roasted malt - a bit like Danish "hvidtøl". The bitterness is very subdued. A classical, Czech Dunkel. 240107

Bottled. A clear, amber beer with a beige head. Mild, roasted aroma with coffee, chocolate and toffee. Prunes, roasted malt, toffee and notes of coffee. All this sounds quite nice, but it reminded me more of a Danish Hvidtøl than a dunkel because of the sweetness. It has a medium body and a sweet finish with some roastiness. Rating: 4-4-4-3-8-2.3. 070103
Bottle. A clear copper-colored beer with a small beige head. Coffee, roasted malts, diacetyl and a fruity and grainy touch on the nose. Sweet flavor with roasted, coffeeish maltyness and some diacetyl. Medium body. The overall impression isn’t as sweet as last time, but it’s still not a favorite. 100618

0.5l bottle bought somewhere in Graz, 4.9% Poured a golden colour with a small white head. The nose is definitely odd. Sweetish, olive oil, cabbage, malt.... The taste is watery and underwhelming. Malt doesn’t play that big a role here... ordinary and slightly weak. The hopiness didn’t impress me much. Some nice lemony notes show up but it’s a bit overall. Bitter hoppy aftertaste. Definitely not in the first league of Bohemian Pilseners.

I am really impressed by the packaging on this bottle; if it tastes half as good as it looks it will be delicious. This is a 12 oz green bottle BB so I know it’s not some common euro bottle. The label is slightly different than shown. First of all it does not say budweiser on it and secondly the letters are white, not red. Also, it says ’the original lager 1795’ on it.The lid has a beautiful foil across it in the style of champagne. A little skunky when I pop the lid, experts here say it is common of a certain kind of hops and green bottle combination (saas?) Date code is 1795, weathered well. This beer is a bit difficult on the taste commencement; it has a flavor that is not like its color. The color is very light pale yellow with no haze at all. The flavor is a touch bitey, it has the grabbing inflexions of an astringent background. Skunk aroma does not fade but is gets a little sweeter! If this was a blind taste test I would say this is a kind of dark beer. Carbonation is medium low. There is a noticeable finish that lingers. Probably rates pretty high with ratebeerians, at least better than bud!

Bottle, Very strange and dominant vanila notes dominates the taste, can’t tell if it is a fault or that is the way it tastes. Anyway, it is a bit repulsive. Not a very good pielsner.

Bottle: Dark amber coloured, medium-sized off-white, slightly rocky head, that sticks to the glass; sweet dark-malty nose with a touch of toasted malt and a tinge of vegetables(?); light bodied, sweetish, slightly bitter flavour; sweetish caramelly finish with a delicate bitterness. O.K., not bad for a beer of 3.6 % from the second - older (!) - Budweiser Brauerei !

It is always a pleasant surprise to find new beers at my local. Yesterday there were two new bottled beers at Blå Rock Cafe, Tromsø - one from Scotland and tthis one from the Czech Republic.
330ml bottle thar pours a clear, (light) amber body with a short-lived, white foam. Rich smell of malt with a citric touch. Hops and sweet malt in the taste with a brush of bitterness at the end. Smooth and dry. Average pilsener that gets a bit too sweet. (31.10.2006).

[Bottled at Stockholm Beer Festival] Hazy dark brown, small beige head. Light-medium bodied. Dominated by caramel and saccharine, making it chemically sweet. Much, much too sweet, and certainly not good.
