April 2015: Shared 330 ml bottle at local tasting. Very dark brown to black colour, minimal carbonation. Moderate aroma of fruity hops and lightly roasted malts. The same in the flavour, not bad, but the lack of carbonation is a letdown.

Bottle split at DS, thanks to Leighton, 29/09/22. Almost clear golden amber with an off white head. Nose is dusty fruits, earthy, leather, dates, grains. Taste comprises stewed fruits, earthy, toffee, fruit slice, dates. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Par Leighton rot box affair.

Bottle shared in London - picked up from a bottle shop. Pours clear orange-gold with a rich, creamy off-white head. Lightly sweet flavour, rounded pale malts, subtle citrus fruits, light dried citrus rind. Light to medium bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Semi-sweet finish, more pale bread and citrus accents. So so.

Bottle at the columbus tasting 29/09/2022. Thanks to LKS for this one. A clear orange amber coloured pour with lasting off white frothy head. Aroma is semi sweet, jammy fruits, nutty malts, light age, grape, mellon. . Flavour is composed of semi sweet, nutty malts, biscuit, raisin, white raisin, white grape, mellow funk, grass. ok.

Bottle from Fonefan, thanks! Deep golden color. Honey in the aroma. Malty floral flavor with caramel, salt and hints of honey. Cellar notes. Decent.

KRS 060816. Golden color with some off-white bubbles. Aroma is yeast, malt, hop, berries, fruit, caramel. Low on carbonation. Ordinary beer.

Bottle, gift from Jim- cheers! Amber with a white film on top. Tastes flat despite a light prickly fizz. Sweet malt up front followed by a lot of boiled cabbage which lasts through the coffee that follows it. Almost no hop presence. Thin and watery. The last and possibly the worst of a generally poor four pack of Discworld Beers. Not sure if the beers are so poor because (1) they’re deliberately brewed badly to imitate how you imagine the beer to taste at the Broken/Mended Drum pub in the Discworld novels or (2) they’re brewed cheaply so the brewer can extract the maximum profit from a no doubt expensive franchising deal; sadly I suspect the latter. Either way they’re not remotely worthy of being connected in any way to the late great Terry Pratchett, surely one of the best satirical authors the world has seen.
