33 cl. bottle sampled @ Kerstbierfestival Essen 2013. Darker amber with a tanned head. Nose is sweet sugar, caramel, sticky malts, sweet coffee & Christmas spices. Sweet herbal taste, touch bitter bark, coffee, candy sugar, sticky malts, touch cake, light hops & cloves. Fuller body. Pretty nice stuff here.

(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, deep golden to amber colour with a big and blond foamy head. Bready and yeasty cara-malty aroma with notes of woody and mildly vinous fruity hops. Moderately sweet flavour, full bodied with a moderate carbonation. Bready cara-malt character with woody, delicately fruity and herbal hops; sweet and slightly bitter finish with stronger herbal notes in the aftertaste, reminding me a bit of lovage/Maggi seasoning, which I rather dislike. 28.XI.13

(Draught at Delirium Hoppy Loft, Brussels, 25 Oct 2013) Amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of apricots, orange peel and fresh, spicy hops. Malty, fruity taste with apricots, orange peel, rye bread and a generous citric bitterness in the finish, together with a warming alcohol glow. More than medium body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and well balanced. Nice one.

Malty, fruity taste with grass, hay, peaches, grainy malt and a fairly dry finish with a spicy bitterness. Medium body, quite dry. Quite tasty and very well balanced. Very nice and highly drinkable saison.

Bottle. Pours cloudy dark ruby / copper brown with airy tan head. Dark aroma of malt, caramel and roast with a hintof chocolate. Sweet flavour of caramel malt with sourish notes of coffee beans and a touch of chocolate. Sour-sweet finish. Warm alcohol presence. Low carbonation. Very well balanced and delicious but very far from the style under which it is categorised here.

Bottle - Roasted malts, raisin and anise. Jet black with a foamy light brown head. Roasted malts, dark molasses, anise and a bitter almost burnt finish. The sticky molasses flavour along with the bitterness almost gives a finish of burnt sugar. That finish loses it for me.
