A British bitter with an off copper color. Creamy head fades quick. Settles into a satisfying brew without any surprises good or bad.

330 ml bottle into pint glass, bottled on 10/25/2014. Pours slightly hazy golden amber color with a 1-2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of lemon, orange, plum, pear, apple, honey, light caramel, toasted biscuit, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of bready malt, earthy hops, and fruity yeast notes; with good strength. Taste of lemon, orange, plum, pear, apple, honey, light caramel, toasted biscuit, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, orange, plum, pear, apple, honey, light caramel, toasted biscuit, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice robustness, complexity, and balance of bready malt, earthy hop, and fruity yeast flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 4.2%. Overall this is an excellent English bitter. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of bready malt, earthy hop, and fruity yeast flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

50cl Bottle conditioned, 4.8% ABV: BBD 21 Nov 16. Poured into an ’Old Speckled Hen’ badged pint vase at home on 30 Oct 15. A little too cool when poured. Lightly tanned head, full but thin covering, the body a clear reddy brown. Malts lead the way in this brew, a bitter and hoppy finish balances the initial semi-sweetness nicely and tests your taste buds too. Very drinkable in deed.

GBBF Day 4. Cask. Almost clear gold beer, very thin pale cream colour head. Palate is light and a little crispy, nice condition. Sweetish pale malts. Little orange and a little orange marmalade. Touches of peach and apple liven things up, even a little apricot here. Light finish. Nicely fruity and one of the better of the many many Golden Blonds at the fest.
