Bottle. Pours muddy amber orange with off white head. Nose/taste of citrus rind, caramel malt, earth and ripe fruit. Medium body. Finishes a bit grainy with some bitter overripe fruit. Very malt forward - a bit too malty/grainy.

Bottle. Sweet buttery caramel malt, orange hops, and biscuit aroma. Hazy orange amber with an excessively large ivory head. Burnt caramel malt, resinous orange hops flavor. Very sweet and heavy. Full sticky body.

22 oz. bottle for $3.99 @ Gary’s Beverage. This was marked down and I could tell has been sitting awhile after knocking off 3 inches of dust off the bottle. Aroma is floral hops with a touch of citrus. Flavor is surprisingly bitter with lots of floral hops and some bland malt. A wet hop type bitterness. I really, REALLY wanted to like this brew but I just didn’t.

Bottle shared at the Richmond Industry Gathering. Gusher. Pours a dark brown color with a huge brown head. Good head retention. Aroma of oats, cherries and roasted malts. The taste is roasted malts, oats, nuts and a hoppy finish. Medium bodied, chewy texture. Seems a little off, which is a shame as it’s otherwise an excellent beer.

Ok this was an infected bottle, but I am rating it anyway - their fault for selling an infected beer +++ Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured thick black and oily with a medium sized creamy very dark brown head. The aroma was strong cocoa, anise, port wine and vanilla. The flavor was bitter vinegar and port wine - obviously infected - with undertones of toasty malts and vanilla that hint at what could have been a decent beer sans infection. Long bitter vinegar, port wine and toasty vanilla finish. Full bodied and creamy. I have a feeling i would have liked this one if not for the infection.

Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy pale golden color with a huge sudsy yellow-white head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was sweet and tangy orange, lemon and sourdough bread. The flavor was bitter and very tart with strong citric acid and light touches of egg white and grapefruit. Long tart citric acid finish. Light to medium body. Not good.

Aroma: The nose has some roasted malts, coffee, a little oatmeal, and some sweet undertones
Appearance: It pours a dark brown-black color with a very small brown head and minimal lace
Flavor: Tastes similar to the nose, roasted malts, coffee, has some underlying anise, and a hint sour
Palate: The body is medium, it has a fairly smooth feel, and a dry, somewhat lengthy finish
Overall Impression: I don't have a ton to say about this one. It wasn't really a stand-out for me. I didn't find it to be special, just fine, but not special.

Bomber from Whole Foods Market, Paramus. These guys’ labeling practices remind me of Legend in Virginia. That is not a complement. hazy amber color with a thin frothy white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of big toffee malts with floral, citrus, resin and candied citrus hop notes. The taste is big toffee, berries, citrus, resin, peaches. Medium-bodied, lingering bitterness, fairly well balanced, a bit of heat. This is a big bold DIPA, Nice.
