Draught at the Brewery in Dublin. A true Irish Red Ale from this brewpub, much better than mass-produced stuff. Malty, very fruity, slightly sweet aroma. Really good fruit flavor, with berries. A touch sweet, a bit of sour, a tuch earthy. Sweet-and-sour fruit finish. Very good.

Cask at GBBF 2009. Amber ith a small white head. Aroma of citrus, coriander, rosemary and thyme. Very spicy flavour too, as if there is added spice. It’s too dominating and a little cloying.

Draught at Maguire’s, Burgh Quay, Dublin. Attractive copper red with a dense cream head; weak fruity aroma; thin body with some sweet malty flavours and a sweet finish. Looks great - but it’s downhill from there on.
