Description

Founder of Dot Brew, Shane Kelly, has made a name for both himself and his brand over the last few years through a keen passion and love for experimentation when it comes to his brews, most notably in the form of barrel ageing and hybrid styles. The Dublin based brewer has carved out quite a niche, developing a unique style and approach which has helped put Dot Brew at the forefront of the Irish Craft Beer scene. While the beers are brewed in various microbreweries in and around Dublin, they are then brought home to Dolphin’s Barn. The site is home to about 50 barrels in a small warehouse which Kelly refers to as his ‘spice rack’, with casks ranging from French oak, Mexican tequila and American bourbon, to name but a few.

44cl can from Le Comptoir Irlandais in Nice, France. F: medium, egg-white, almost good retention. C: deep gold, hazy. A: orange, onion effect, bit grapefruits, toast, mellow fruity. T: full malty base, orange, mellow grapefruits, toast, bit roasted onion, white wine touch, bit pine, nice balanced long lasting harmonic bitterness, good one, enjoyed for sure.

33cl can from Le Comptoir Irlandais in Nice, France. F: medium, tanned, quick gone. C: dark, opaque. A: malty, roasted tones, bit berries, cocoa, woody touch. T: full malty base, light cocoa, woody, bit rum, vanilla touch, peat tones, vinous touch, dry on the palate, very nice balanced, fully enjoyed.

33cl can from Le Comptoir Irlandais in Nice, France. F: medium, white, quick gone. C: pale gold, hazy. A: malty, light lemon, woody, funky, orange, bit lemon jam. T: medium malty base, citrus, light lemon, bit woody, funky, orange, bit grapes, medium carbonation, nice smooth mouthfeel, ok not bad this, enjoyed.
