Description
Casa Agria Specialty Ales is a small brewery focusing on mixed fermentation farmhouse style ales and barrel aged wild ales in Ventura County, California. Like much of California, Ventura County agriculture and farming has played a vital role in the development of the communities here throughout time. The mild climate and rich soil allows for several harvests throughout the year making it one of the most valuable resources here. For these reasons the farmhouse style is a perfect style to refresh during a warm dry winter and a mild summer day alike from one harvest to the next. Further influence is found in the food ingredients and diverse cultural traditions of the people who shaped the California of today.

Can pour shared by AirForceHops--thanks, Chris! It's an opaque black with quickly fading thin cap of beige head. Aroma is balanced mix of peanut butter, concord grape and malts. Taste is roasted malt and peanut butter, quickly overtaken by sweet, grape rock candy and late return of malt/p.b. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with smooth, lightly frothy texture, soft carbonation. Alcohol hidden. Love the balance of the aroma but too grape, and kind of artificial, in the flavor.

16 oz can. Aromas shows bold Concord grape. The grape rules supreme in the flavor but a small amount of peanut and roast is found in the finish. Mouthfeel and texture are proper.

Casa Agria Frutaleta Blueberry Cheesecake 8% Imperial Sour Ale with blueberry and lactose Lovely purple color with virtually no foam. Sweet blueberry pie type aroma. Sweet lactose and pie crust at first then tart sour blueberries before the ultra sweet lactose returns. Ok.
