Description
Beachwood Blendery is a small batch beer producer established in 2014 by the same creative minds behind the award winning Beachwood Brewing. Beachwood Blendery has embarked on an undoubtedly geeky quest to recreate the Lambic style beers of Belgium. Our beers are produced using ingredients, equipment, and brewing methods that are both steeped in tradition and admittedly modern.

Thanks, flopfacefred. The beer is a bright yellow with a little gold to it. Moderately hazy. Small white head, quite fizzy. Dies away to nothing quickly. The aroma is fairly mild. There’s a light poopiness, a little yogurt, maybe some fresh grain. Not much else going on. The taste is moderately tart. Again pretty mild overall. Some pucker. Some yogurt. Moderately sharp. Prickly carbonation. Light feel. Nice enough but not particularly interesting.

Poured from a bottle. Aroma has a moderate acidic note with quite a bit of lactic acid. Moderate wheat notes with some light citrus. A hint of sulphur. Pours fairly clear, pale yellow with a large, thick, frothy white head that recedes fairly quickly. No lacing or legs. Flavor has moderate acidity with a lactic note. Decent wheat notes with some faint sweetness. Low bitterness. Light citrus notes. None of the sulphur I picked up in the aroma. Mouthfeel is light bodied with a medium high carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Not watery at all. Overall, a plain and somewhat simple Berliner, but it’s also quite nice. Easy drinking with some good basic character.

Bottle courtesy of rlgk. Pours hazy yellow with a frothy white head that doesn’t leave much trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is tiny malty, tiny fruity and slightly funky with crackers, lemon juice, yoghurt, hay, dry soil, barnyard and lemon zest. Taste is slightly sour, slightly fruity and tiny funky. Mouthfeel is sparkling, dry, tart and light bodied. Finish is sour with crackers, wheat bread dough, lemon juice, red pears, yoghurt, hay, minerals and lemon zest. Highly crisp and refreshing with some funk. Light dough feel and some estery red pears but damn good overall.
