Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 22C). Bottle 50 cl - Batch L04 915T, BBF 11-2016. AROMA: moderate oxidized hop aroma with a cheese and dry grass notes. Malty background of a caramelly nature, with almost the same intensity. Slight esters (dried plums) and a medium-low peppery alcohol presence. APPEARANCE: dark copper color and clear. thin dark ivory head with low retention. TASTE: medium-high malt presence with a toffee and bread crust character. slight dried grapes note. medium-low hop flavor similar to the aroma. medium bitterness with a semi-dru finish. PALATE: full body with very low carbonation. alcohol warmth very smooth for 11.5% abv. OVERALL: an american barleywine that seemed to be bery good when fresh. It demands retasting when new batches are available.

0.33l bottle shared with The Tasting Crew. Oh, my this smells sweet and fruity! Banana banana banana! The most banana candy infused beer I've ever smelled. It has a warm amber, dark amber color. Soft cloudy and a beige head on the top. Just super sweet. There's also apples and almonds here. A bit over the top perhaps. It's also quite sweet in the taste but not as sweet as a I thought. Thick and oily on the texture and it's just below average on the carbonation. Sweet almonds with pomegranate syrup, a ton of candied sugar and fermented apples. Bottle from El Corte Ingles food hall, Lisbon, Portugal. A hazy ruby/dark brown coloured pour with a thin off white head on top. Sweet, treacle, dark fruit aroma. Tastes of caramel, treacle, dark fruit, apple, pretty sweet.

Bottle from Apolonia. Milky golden body with a medium white head. Good lacing. Aroma of tangerine, orange cream and custard cream biscuits. Flavour of orange pith and lemon sweets. Medium body with a smooth texture. Soft fizz. Well balanced and creamy.

Bottle from Apolonia. Dark brown body with a thin beige head. Faint lacing. Aroma of flat Coca-Cola, toffee and chocolate ice-cream. Flavour of cocoa powder, caramel and underripe plum. Abrupt finish. Medium body with a creamy texture. Soft fizz. Enjoyable.

Piwo klarowne o złocistej barwie, białej, obfitej i gęstej pianie choć jest to piana średnio i grubopęcherzykowa jak z płynu do mycia naczyń, szybko się dziurawi tylko nieznacznie znacząc ścianki szkła. Aromat subtelny, lekko słodowy z akcentami chmielowymi w tle i malutkim smrodkiem jakby dms. Leciutkie w smaku, słodowe z minimalną goryczką. Piwo pijalne choć czuć wodnistość i pustkę, bardzo przeciętny pils ale bez wyrazu.
