Description
Blind Enthusiasm is driven by our passion for great beer and fine food. We brew three distinct types of beer at two locations in Edmonton. We brew crisp ales and lagers as well as complex barrel-aged beers at the Market, located alongside our restaurant, Biera. At The Monolith we’re running one of largest barrel-fermented beer programs in Canada.

375mL bottle, pours a deep dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma is fairly subtle on the bourbon barrels, light roast, and a touch of dark fruits. Flavour is full of oranges, soft bourbon, a touch of smoke, and some dark fruits. Oranges, roasted malt, and gentle bourbon on the finish.

375mL bottle, pours a fairly clear, somewhat hazy golden with a medium white head. Nose is wonderfully rustic in the saison yeast character, with gentle dry hopping, and a hint of vinous, tannic character from the barrels. Flavour confirms the aromatic impression, with a great blend of rustic and wild yeast, gentle tannic character from the wine, some wood, and a hint of dry hopping. Rustic, gently wild and subtly woody. The nose is more complex than the flavour, but it's well-made overall. Very good.

750ml on Brian's deck. Appearance: hazy straw with a white head. Aroma: nice farmhouse and fruity notes, with some barrel character. Taste: along the same lines, a bit harsh. Overall: not bad, but it's not elegant enough to call it a good beer.

750mL bottle, pours a fairly clear golden with a medium white head. Aroma is loaded with complex rustic saison yeast, a little white pepper, and oak. Flavour is pretty much identical, with rustic saison yeast, white pepper, oak, and a little wild yeast. Really nice rustic saison yeast with just enough white pepper. Excellent.

500ml at Matt's amenity room. Appearance: hazy pale straw with a white head. Aroma: Saaz hops. Taste: same stuff in here with a high hoppy bitterness. Overall: probably a good lager for those who like classic lager hops.
