Description
Shane Swindells began Cheshire Brewhouse in 2012, but has been passionate about beer and the joyful sociability of pubs from an early age — ‘beer was special, it was the stitches that held the fabric of society together’. Home is the historic town of Congleton, where it is based on a small industrial estate in the Dane Valley, close to the greenness of Congleton Park. Using bespoke-made brewing kit that makes 2880 pints per brew, Swindells produces an award-winning and vegan-friendly range of beers that can be enjoyed in cask, keg, bottle and can. As well as its historic recipes, Cheshire Brewhouse produces a superb range of modern craft beers that resonate with the bright colours and tropical fruit aromas of American hops such as Citra and Amarillo as well as English varieties such as East Kent Goldings.

19/6/2021. Can shared with Dan & ITFCfan at the Euro's beer share. From Beer Guerrilla, Northampton. Pours clear golden with a large frothy white head. Aroma of citrus, lemon, lemon sorbet, soap, bitter lime, herbal and medicinal notes. Moderate sweetness, odd bitter/tart combo. Moderate body, average carbonation. Dry and bitter finish. Expected to enjoy this, but something wasn't right.

Think there's some yeast issues with this brewery - 2nd different can in last few months that I can't get in the glass - Froth issues. Thick with sweet tastes of stone fruit etc, etc. Really disappointing that I can't actually get to the liquid. Poor & a waste of money

Can sample at a tasting at Dima's place. Clear dark brown. Malt, some funk, dark fruits, a bit of red fruits, caramel, earth, sweetish and a bit sourish, some roast, bitterish touch in the finish. Decent.

Creamy off white head stayed on an unclear rustic body. Spiced fruit & tea aroma. Medium bodied, smooth with a clean back. Spiced, fruity, tangy, grape & hoppy tastes with a malt undercurrent & long bitter finish. Unusual.

27/3/2021. Can shared at the lockdown is virtually over virtual beer share celebration. From Beer Guerrilla, Northampton. Poured a little weak, dark brown with a small bubbly/frothy beige head. Aroma of chocolate, light coffee, blackberry, blackcurrant, touch of liquorice and ash. Moderate sweetness, light roasted bitterness. Moderate body, average carbonation. Watery, vaguely sour, drying finish. Not what I'd hoped for.
