Sample at GABF 10/04/2014, thanks to my BIL for assistance with note-taking. Dark brown-black color with some ruby around the edges, and a medium tan head that recedes steadily. Small patches of lace. Malt and gingerbread aroma. Medium to full body with a sweet gingerbread character and notes of burnt malt and slight dark fruit. The finish is sweet with a gingerbread aftertaste. Solid beer that hits the target.

Sample at GABF 10/04/2014, thanks to my BIL for assistance with note-taking. Pours a very dark brown color with a medium thick khaki head that diminishes steadily. Partial ring of lace. Aroma of malt, chocolate and raspberry. Medium to full body with flavors of roasted malt, raspberries and dark chocolate. The finish is chocolate-covered raspberries and malt. Pretty good all around.

Poured from a bottle it is a cloudy orange with a frothy head. The aroma is sour and the taste is a sour blackberry with a real bitter finish

From a 22 oz bottle shared at home. Pours a hazy copper with a thick off white head. Fruity nose. Flavors of biscuit with blackberry. Smooth, clean finish.

12 oz bottle poured into a Spiegelau tulip. Amber/reddish-pink with almost a finger of off-white head. Aromas of perfumy fruit (Dragon fruit? Whatever that smells like), lightly tart berries, subtle funky note, light lemons, herbs. Tastes of wheat, dragon fruit? (Whatever that tastes like), herbs and spices, very slight tartness. Medium-light body with a dry finish. Medium carbonation, juicy mouthfeel.

Aroma: The nose is pumpkin spice, cinnamon, some rum, brown sugar, vanilla, oak, and dough
Appearance: It pours a lightly hazy orange color with a lasting head and some solid lace work
Flavor: Flavor-wise, the rum barrel comes out more, pumpkin flavors are underneath, but present
Palate: The body is medium-plus, there's a bit of heat on the finish but it doesn't overpower
Overall Impression: I've been sitting on this one for a minute, I figured some age wouldn't hurt it. I thought it was excellent. The rum is more present in the flavor than the nose, but the vanilla/oak are a little more present in the nose. Really liked how the barrel aging worked here. Another excellent Hardywood offering.

22 oz bottle poured into a Spiegelau tulip. 2014 release aged in Four Roses bourbon barrels. Clear amber with two fingers of beige head. Aromas of citrus, charred oak, light bourbon if any, a bit of tropical fruit, some dark fruit. Tastes of citrus, light bourbon, oak, a bit of dark fruit, some spices. Medium body with a dry finish. Low carbonation. Slightly syrupy mouthfeel.
