On draft at Rustico in Arlington. Pours black with a tan head. Flavors of bourbon and some cola. Gingerbread is not very evident. Boozy finish. Nice.

4oz cask pour at Churchkey. Pours a watery black with a ring of spitty off white head. Nose is malty, coffee bean, cocoa pod, toast. Flavor is thin but exactly the same. Weak finish.

4oz cask pour at Churchkey. Pours a lightly hazy, straw gold with some wispy, white head. Nose is minty, a little bit of feet, grass, mild malt. Flavor is better, malt, corn, grass, lemon, a hint of toothpaste. Watery finish.

4oz pour at Churchkey. Pours a clear orange with some spitty, white head. Nose is sweet, fruity, mango, asian pear, a little honey, some tangerine, a little lime. Flavor is the same, malty, sweet, grapefruit, lime, mango, honey. Clean finish. Quite nice.

4oz draft pour at Churchkey. Poured a dark cola orange color, with a small off-white head. Aroma was a lot of wood, bourbon notes - sweet malts. Alcohol apparent on the nose. Flavor was some light orange citrus notes, with some sweet candy caramel notes, all doused with pine, bourbon, oak planks. Needs a little longer to smooth out, but I suppose an okay start. Their attempts with their Russian Imperial Stout and Cru were better.

Cask 4oz pour at Churchkey. Poured a slight clear dark ruby brown color with a small, bubbly tan head. Aroma was chocolate notes, roasted malts. Flavor was roasted chocolate, some grain. Pretty refreshing, easy to drink. Quite sessionable for a porter and something I could see drinking outside the cool months of the year (surprisingly enough, it’s still quite chilly in DC at the start of May).

Cask pour at Churchkey. Poured a mostly clear golden copper color with a small soapy head. Aroma was notes of, well I don’t know - it was a bit strange, perhaps citrus and grassy notes. Some floral character peeks through the citrus character. Juicy, tasty. Alcohol is hidden well enough that this one almost seems sessionable. Almost.

Cask 4oz pour at Churchkey. Poured a very clear golden color with a soapy white head. Aroma is crisp malts, grassy notes of Saaz hops. Flavor is not too grassy, it’s clean, not skunky like a lot of fellow pilseners often are. Refreshing.

Pours cloudy golden with ok head and lacing. Some floral hops and a little oily. Great on aroma but doesn’t come through well, elements finish disjointed. A little bitter, a little sweet on finish. Tap at Churchkey thanks to Travlr.

Nice load of saaz hops that makes for a great Bohemian pilsener. Pours golden with good head and lacing and soft carbonation on cask. Crisp bitter finish, nice package and well done for style. Cask at Churchkey, thanks to Travlr for a taste of this.
