Pours hazy golden orange color with off white head. Aromas of fruits and yeast with some malts. Similar flavors. Light to medium body with lively carbonation.

750 mL bottle from the brewery. I wasn’t a huge fan of the base beer so hopefully this one will be mellowed out by the bourbon and a little age. Pours a dark brown color with a thin frothy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, mild whiskey and cherries. Slight ashen note. Medium bodied, slight lingering bitterness. A little disjointed and disappointing.

C&C 750 mL bottle from the brewery. Pours a hazy amber color with a medium sized frothy white head. Good head retention. Aroma of floral, herbal hops, spice, pale malts and a faint bit of honey. The taste is earth, anise, herbal notes, mild tropical notes, pale malts and some pepper builds at the very end. Medium bodied, lingering spice, low carbonation, fairly delicate.

Aroma: It has a nice pine/wood aroma, almost sprucy, some earth, and a little spice
Appearance: Pours a caramel-orange color with a thick, frothy beige head and plus lace
Flavor: The taste is plenty hoppy, nice pine/spruce-like flavor, good bitterness to it
Palate: The body is medium-plus, it has a creamy feel, average carbonation, and a dry finish
Overall Impression: I really liked this one a lot. Great hop flavor from the poplar. I really liked the way this worked. Excellent stuff. Makes me want to lick a tree.

Draft at the brewery. Pours a hazy copper color with a thin frothy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of toffee malts, floral, herbal hops and some mild apples. The taste is bitter citrus and resin hops, toffee malts. Medium bodied, slight lingering bitterness.

Bottle at Brewdown. Pours reddish amber with white head. Nose and taste of bourbon, caramel malt, sticky sweetness and toffee. Medium body. This was my last beer of the night. If you look at my actual tasting notes, they read "red dish w mtt h_d cand mnts tow mish By." Somehow I was able to decipher that.

3oz pour at Meridian Pint. Oily, opaque black with one ring of white head. Nose is sweet, brown sugar, booze, vanilla, malt, licorice, German chocolate cake. Flavor has a ton of vanilla, malt, brown sugar, booze, caramel, rum, black pepper. Full, sticky finish. Good barrel character.

Burnt orange growler mosaic nose. Very citrus like. No bourbon Insanely bitter. Loads of citrus. Bourbon in minimal. Candy corns?
