Aroma: This one has a wheat nose, with fairly subtle, clean fruit notes
Appearance: It pours a reddish-orange clear, with a small beige head on it
Flavor: Lightly sweet and mid-dry flavor, that has an almost wine-like component to it
Palate: This one has a soft-to-average carbonation, a clean feel, and a medium body
Overall Impression: This is a pretty good one. It wasn't my favorite Hardywood, but I enjoyed trying it. The wife was definitely a fan.

Aroma: The nose is bourbon over ginger bread cookies, roasted malt, molasses, and brown sugar
Appearance: A dark brown color, fairly thick pour, and a small ring of beige head with spotty lace
Flavor: The flavor is actually extremely well-balanced, the bourbon adds an excellent boozy component to the base beer that leans toward the sweet side, and the spice works nicely here too
Palate: The body is medium, leaning full, it smooth and almost silky, with a dry, bourbony finish
Overall Impression: This is excellent. This base beer was really meant for the barrel treatment. I love how the bourbon plays with the sweetness without overwhelming the underlying beer. Truly a world-class offering. Thanks again Pinsky!

Bottle poured into Belgian snifter. 2013 release. Pours black with 1-1.5 finger tan head, decent lacing. Aromas of chocolate, cinnamon, light peppers. Tastes of milk chocolate, light peppers, dark fruit, light spices, caramel/toffee, maybe a little vanilla. Finishes sweet with light pepper heat. Peppers may have faded since whenever this was bottled.

750 mL bottle (2014) poured into a snifter. Pours dark brown/black with brown hues with 1/2 to 1 finger tan head. Coffee with chocolate and light berries in the aroma. Notes of coffee, roast, milk/dark chocolate, and light berries in the taste. Body is a bit light for a Russian Imperial Stout.

Bottle shared at the Double Medium tasting, big thanks to Jack, 03/01/14. Dark mahogony brown with a thin light tan head that clears to a pond. Nose is Jamaica Ginger Cake, light roasty tones, chocolate, toffee. Taste comprises light roast, cocoa powder, dark toffee, gingerbread, sweet tasting. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying closure. Decent work, solid for style, ginger is pretty well restrained but evident.

Mega Tasting at Bruce’s pad. Thanks to Jackie Boy. Semi opaque dark red -brown beer. Tidy pale tan head. Palate is light and softish. Creamy malt. Nice McVities Jamaican Ginger cake. Light touches of dried fruits and bitterness.

Bottle thanks to Jack at the monster 2-page tasting. It pours deep brown with a minimal beige head. The nose is Jamaican ginger cake, brown bread, spice and treacle. The taste is gingerbread, earth, toast, light roast, fiery ginger, brown bread, lactose and warming alcohol with a dry finish. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Does what it says on the tin (or bottle), but could get a bit sickening after a while.

Bottle shared at the Track Set tasting in London. Big thanks to Jack for this one. Pours clear, dark brown with a fine, creamy off-white head. The nose has dry cinnamon, some faint leaves, berries, bread. Medium sweet flavor with sugary and lightly toasted bread, semi-dry berries, cranberry, cinnamon. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. More cinnamon in the finish, some jerk spices, well toasted bread, very slight cocoa. Really nice stuff but not much stout character. Still, good beer.

C&C 750 mL bottle. I randomly picked two beers with chocolate this Christmas evening and decided to open this as my final beer of the night to continue the trend. Pours a dark brown color with a very large foamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of citrus, fruity pepper notes and a mild bit of roast. The taste is chocolate, roast, peppers, stone fruits. Mild warmth from the peppers. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, mild booze, moderate lingering heat.

Draft at the brewery, 11/15/13. Pours a hazy amber color with a thin frothy head. Decent head retention. Aroma of citrus, grapefruit, herbal hops, grassy notes, pale malts. Taste is herbal, resin, grapefruit hops, pale malts. Medium bodied, decent balance.
