Description
Independent Brewery producing a wide range of Cask, Keg, Bottled and Canned beers. Products available direct from the on-site shop and tours are available about twice a month. Most beers are now gluten free.
From modest origins in July 2011, which saw Nene Valley Brewery operating with just a two-and-a-half-barrel facility, the company moved into its new riverside premises at the end of that year and now operates a 15-barrel installation. Brewing is undertaken once a week with a range of products distributed to local pubs, wholesalers and direct to the public.

Cask at Craft Beer Rising 2014 - London. Pours clear, yellow-gold with a white froth capping. Decent hoppy number. Moderately dry, with a bit of rindy tangerine, slight flinty minerals, hey, mellow pale malt sweetness. Light bodied with fine carbonation; decent condition. Dry finish with faint pine needles, more hay, minerals and lemony hops. Good stuff.

Cask at Craft Beer Rising 2014 - London. Pours clear yellow with a mellow, white foam head. Decent beer. The character is defined by dry pale dough sweetness, faint yeast, bitter lemon rind. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Moderate drying on the finish, with mellow wheat bread. Tasty, if a bit simplistic.

Keg at the Blue Moon, Cambridge. Light gold with a tiny bit of head and little visible carbonation. Resin, earth, gardenia and a bit of plastic in the aroma. Fresh bittersweet taste. More hop bitterness in the finish. Decent and certainly tasty but not outstanding... better APAs to be had.

Keg at the Blue Moon, Cambridge. Amber, slightly hazy wig a decent beige head. Scent obscured a bit - maybe too cold and too kegged - but there is a nice malt, tree sap and vanilla scent if you let it warm up a bit and keep at it. Sweet taste with heavy bitter overtones. Nice bitter-laden finish with slight suggestions of forest fruit and caramel. Very decent US-style amber.

Cask handpull at the Mill, Cambridge. Light to mid-gold, small white head. Sea salt, citrus and sulphur aroma. Gentle bittersweet taste is buoyed by a salty/savoury note. Lip-smacking grassy aftertaste. Good, and different from most beers of its ilk.

Cask at the three johns during the tap takeover. Clear light orange / golden coloured pour with a a lasting thin white cap. Aroma is semi sweet, juicy hop, mango, resinous hop, pine needle. Flavour is composed of semi sweet malts, nutty, little , berry, mineral, dirty citrus. Palate is semi sweet, moderate cask condition. OK English IPA. Not sure premium bitter is correct for this.
