Description
Independent Brewery producing a wide range of Cask, Keg, Bottled and Canned beers. Products available direct from the on-site shop and tours are available about twice a month. Most beers are now gluten free.

From modest origins in July 2011, which saw Nene Valley Brewery operating with just a two-and-a-half-barrel facility, the company moved into its new riverside premises at the end of that year and now operates a 15-barrel installation. Brewing is undertaken once a week with a range of products distributed to local pubs, wholesalers and direct to the public.

Cask at Hops, Crewe. Pours golden yellow with a medium sized white head and good lacing. The aroma has oranges and floral hops. In the mouth it starts off sweet with some hoppiness lurking beneath the surface, but then becomes bitter with floral hops. Citrus and grains come through too, as well as a little sharpness. Finish is bitter and slightly dry. This is decent – plenty of flavour for the strength.

23/6/2023. Cask at Stanford Arms, Lowestoft. First off, what a great name for a beer! Poured black with a small creamy beige head. Aroma is woody, chocolate, vanilla, mildly roasted, boozy, caramel, dried fruits, hint of coconut. Medium sweetness and moderate bitterness with a light tart edge. Medium body, creamy, soft carbonation. Picks up all the elements of a BA beer without the high abv. Really good.

Gravity cask from the Rutland CAMRA Beer Festival, June 2023, Rutland County Museum, Oakham. Pours mid-gold colour and it has that little bit of haze. Light notes of passionfruit on the nose, some pink grapefruit, blueberry, delicate malty tones. Sweet and nicely fruity flavour giving way to some reasonably intense hoppy bitterness. No carbonation. Very nice.
