Description
Independent Brewery producing a wide range of Cask, Keg, Bottled and Canned beers. Products available direct from the on-site shop and tours are available about twice a month. Most beers are now gluten free.

From modest origins in July 2011, which saw Nene Valley Brewery operating with just a two-and-a-half-barrel facility, the company moved into its new riverside premises at the end of that year and now operates a 15-barrel installation. Brewing is undertaken once a week with a range of products distributed to local pubs, wholesalers and direct to the public.

Keg draught at the Blue Boar, Leicester. Black with an uneven brown head. Sour aroma of whisky with molasses, salted caramel, chocolate fudge. Taste starts sweet with the sourness of the whisky leading to an intensely bitter finish. Gritty malt notes and impenetrable molasses also hang about in the aftertaste. Thick body with carbonation on the low side. Damn.

Panda at home, thanks to SHIG, 09/07/22. Light black with a good sized lasting khaki head. Nose is mellow roast, cocoa powder, charr, dried fruit rinds, brown sugar dusting. Taste comprises ashen tones, charr, cocoa sprinkle, toffee, biscuit, raisins. Medium bodied, prickly carbonation - over carbed for me lose a point, semi drying close. Ok porter let down largely by its over carbed nature.

Panda at home, thanks to Danlo, 12/06/22. Black with a good sized tan covering that dissipates edgewards. Nose is dark malts, spice, mellow barrel, toffee, dark fruit rinds, dates, booze tunes. Taste comprises dark fruit rinds, spice, treacle toffee, brown sugar scattering, bourbon barrel, oak, booze. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost.
