Description
First brewed late 2008 using the name Cumberland Breweries Ltd. Following a take over in 2016, the brewery changed its name to the current version in early 2018. The brewery was part of US-based Alltech Limited before it was acquired by businessman David Corkill late 2020.

Every beer tells a story. We like to think ours will engage you in a complex tale of tradition & heritage with tangible, contemporary notes thrown in for flavour. An anecdote from the dented pewter tankards of old to the sleek modern pint glass of today. Próst!

Bottle from Beer GB as Great Corby Tizzie Whizie, shared with the Mrs. Pours clear pale yellow gold with a thin white head. Aromas of light straw, light citrus, light mango. Biscuit and mango taste. Light bitter finish. A bit thin.

Bottle from Beer GB. Pours clear golden with a thin white head. Aromas of tropical fruit and citrus, light biscuit. Taste adds a pine note. Cleansing bitter finish. Nice.

Bottle from Beer GB. Pours dark brown to black with a thin tan head. Aromas of liquorice and smoke, some sweet honeyish notes. Taste adds chocolate and light roast. Dry finish. Nice.

Creamy white head on a still golden coloured body. Malt, cereal & biscuit tastes with zesty citrus finish. That's tasty & refreshing.

Bottle from BeerGB. Appearance - golden and clear with white suds. Nose - lemon, barley and fresh grass. Light custard. Taste - lemon barley water and fresh grass again. Palate - light bodied dry and bitter finish. Overall - decent example of the style.

500ml bottle. Pours dull gold with a medium head. Aroma is lime jelly and straw. Taste has a little straw and lime.

1/3 pint, gravicask shared with Finn at GBBF Winter '23. Low, bubbly, off-white head, clear mahogany coloured body, laces fine. Brown malty aromas, hints of fruit. Caramel- fruity flavours added by moments of dark berries. Bittersweet endnotes. Pretty fair. (Burton upon Trent 16.02.2023).

Rocky off white head left a spotty cover on a reddish brown body. Sweet, malt & toffee aroma. Medium bodied smooth & dry on the back. Toffee, caramel, malt & aniseed tastes with a tangy fruity finish. Nice one.

Gravity cask at the GBBF Winter 2023 Festival, day 2 at Burton On Trent Town Hall, 17/02/23. Light mahogany brown with a decent beige covering. Nose is fruit cake, biscuit, toffee, brown bread. Taste comprises dried fruit rinds, biscuit, toffee, toasted grains. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Not bad for a cask brown.
