Description
Founded in 1784 by Jean Baptiste De Bruin and still a family brewery to this day; known as Brouwerij Schelfaut until 1919, when the name was changed to Brouwerij Bios by Paul Van Steenberge, who became the head of the operation in 1922. Currently operated by his great-grandson Jef Versele (since 1998). Underwent many technical upgrades and expansions since then, most notably in 2017 when new buildings were installed and production capacity was significantly increased.

On tap at TripelB Worcester, Wednesday 4th March 2026. Pours gold with a light haze and a very large off white head. Warming, the rum comes through, a little bit boozy, soft mouthfeel, good carbonation, lovely depth of flavour. Score 7.6

opalescent orange to amber colour, medium sized dense ecru head; aroma of malty-grainy, yeasty, orange peel oily, some honey-like and maybe fruity notes; taste of hoppy bitterness, some malty and honey-like notes; well, I would not say that it is a top notch Belgian beer, but drinkable, for sure

Cloudy deep gold with a two finger tall off-white head of good retention. Peach estsrs, pale malt, candy, rum, tannins, vanilla, spicy notes, grassy hop. Distant funk. Warming alcohol. Light sweet & bitter. Pretty good.

Moyenne.
