Description

Keg at the Kings Arms, BG, 18/05/17. Lightly hazed golden orange with a decent off white cap. Nose is cantaloupe melon, light pine, citric tinged straw, bread dough, apricot jam. Taste comprises orange pith, grapefruit, soft brioche, mango slithers, light spice, toasted grains, airy malts. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a juicy hop spattering. Decent enough IPA but not getting the New England so much ... needs to appear a bit murkier and taste a little danker.

Aftertaste: overripe fruits, banana peel, spicy, bit dirty, soft roast, pretty unenjoyable beer.

Draught Good yellowish head over cold-hazed bright orange beer. Bitterish oranges, kumquat, other grains, rye. More bitter orange, (moulded) curaçao peel. Medium bodied at least, well-carbonated, served too cold. Far from bad.

Draft @ BBP Good Beer Feast 2016, merci à l’équipe Bxl.

330ml bottle. Clear, mahogany colour with dark copper-ish glimmer and samll to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Mildly smoky, ashy, nuttily dark malty aroma. Taste is dry, woody, smoky, nuttily dark malty, slightly sweet hints of treacle, tomato barbecue marinade, dark chocolate, a touch of chipotle; oily texture, slightly sticky palate.
