Description

330ml bottle. Cloudy, yellow-ish, golden colour with average, frothy, collapsing, white head. Sweet-ish, bretty, funky, fruity, mildly spicy, minimally sugary aroma, notes of white grapes, grape sugar, a touch of nutmeg, vanilla, floral honey, Hubba Bubba bubblegum. Taste is sweet-ish and tart, fruity, mildly bretty, funky, notes of white grapes, grape sugar, white grape juice, hints of floral honey, Hubba Bubba bubblegum, some grassy hop. Viscous texture, minimally dry, simultaneously minimally cloying palate, coarse, lively carbonation. Nice composition, well balanced brett usage, sadly quite overcarbonated - good, but a bit off the road.

330ml bottle sophiesbeerstore.co.uk. Pours a misty gold, no head. Aroma of fresh, lightly sherbetty zesty apricot fruit. Fine spritz on the palate. Taste presents an initial sweet fuzzy wild character, delicate fruit profile encompassing apricot, mango, gooseberry, rhubarb, boosted by a wild brett presence. Can't really detect much orange wine influence.. I sense the beer may have been quite adequate without it. Big hitting flavour that seems an antithesis to the berliner character, but nevertheless an interesting sour beer.

0.33 l bottle from the brewery's web shop, bottled in July 2020. Black with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently roasty, quite vinous-fruity aroma of dark chocolate, red wine, coffee, licorice and red berries. Gently sweet, malty, moderately roasty, fairly vinous-fruity taste of dark chocolate, coffee, licorice, red wine and red berries, followed by a medium long, gently roasty-bitter, slightly earthy, rather vinous, moderately woody-dry finish. Medium body, a little astringent and gently effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. The red wine and the dark malts match perfectly again, really impressive composition of flavours. The woody dryness cuts nicely through the sweet malts, and it's extremely quaffable. Very good!

11-10-20 // 330ml bottle. 33% rosé wine and 10% raspberrypüree for this beer wine hybrid and this resembles in aroma. Clear rosé colored. No head. Just some initial bubbles. Dry raspberry in the nose, light wineous. Very soft fizzy mouthfeel. Rosé wine and subtle raspberry. Dry ta nnins in the finish. The Berliner Weisse base influence is marginal. More wine than beer.

0.33 l bottle from the brewery's web shop, bottled in September 2020. Slightly hazy, golden with a thin, frothy, almost stable, white head. Slightly sweetish, sourish, quite vinous-fruity aroma of white wine, gooseberry, apricot, lemon and a touch of brett funk. Gently sour, quite vinous-fruity taste of white wine, lemon, gooseberry, apricot, hints of rhubarb and traces of brett funk, followed by a short, gently tart, a little funky finish. Thin to medium body, gently astringent and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft to average carbonation. Another brilliant grape ale from Flügge, the wine and the apricot match perfectly with the Berliner Weisse, a style I am usually not too fond of. Nice flavours, well-balanced and the brett rounds it up. Good!

Bottle. Hazy amber color with white head. Aroma is mild grains, mild farty tartness, estery, Kveikish, nice fruity hops too. Taste is the same. Soft velvety mouthfe with soft medium carbonation. Not a Kellerbier per se, but it's got the right Flügge character. I like!
