Hazy orange-gold color with a medium foamy white head that recedes slowly. Strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of wheat, citrus and malt. Light-bodied with flavors of citrus, wheat and toasted malt. The finish is clean with a fruity wheat aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

This Pale Ale poured a cloudy, medium amber colour with a big, beautiful, bright white head. Very nice lacing. To the nose there are scents of citrus hops, grass and a little perfume. First sip was a little watery with stong hopp flavour and a hint of bread. Very hoppy without the harsh hop flavour. Finish is bitter with flavour of flowers and hay lingering.

12oz bottle pours ruby red to amber with tan head of foam. The aroma offers up some sweet malts, roasted malts, sweet nuttiness and a dash of chocolate malts. Pretty nice. The taste is pretty darn sweet for the style, I think, with sweet malts, some honey like notes and then a bit of carbonation enhanced roasted malts astringent tart notes.

22 oz bottle; picked it up since it was cheap and from a Michigan brewery I’d never heard of (Butternut Brewing). Pours a clear copper with a white head. Slightly yeasty, slightly red fruit, biscuity aroma. Flavor has light to medium honey, wheat biscuit, vague impressions of yeasty cloves, citrus, red fruit. Overall, nothing interesting, but nothing negative, either. It’s just... there.

Sample from growler at Ale Wine & Spirits in Powell on 04/27/2012. The beer is a brownish-black color with a medium tan head that diminishes steadily. Rings of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of dark chocolate, coffee and malt. Full-bodied with a roasty coffee and malt character along with notes of hops and nuts. The finish is rich and malty with a lingering sweetness. Above average overall.
