22 oz. bottle from a trade with a buddy on BA. Want to guess the color? Nose is light coffee bean. Flavor is lightly sweet. Taste is old coffee grounds, Earthy hops and caramel syrup. Lighter notes of toffee and light bread malt. It reminds me of a caramel iced coffee. Carbonation gives this light creamy texture. I thought this was unusual when I read the description and it is. And thatβs what I really like about it. If you like coffee brews give this a try. I think you need to have an open mind if you do grab a bottle and expecting lighter coffee and not deep notes.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 12/21/12
Aroma: The nose is dark chocolate malts mostly, with some roasted notes and coffee
Appearance: It pours a dark brown color with minimal head, and some spotty, off-white lace
Flavor: The taste is malty and roasty, with some lightly bitter chocolate and unsweetened coffee
Palate: The body is medium-plus, with a soft carbonation, a clean feel, and a dry roasted finish
Overall Impression: This is a pretty solid one. It has mostly dark chocolate and un-sweet coffee flavors, and those flavors work pretty well. Good stuff, nothing world beating, but if you are in the mood for a solid dark chocolate/coffee stout this one does the job quite nicely.

Bottle @ home, picked up at Wilburs Foco. Pours a clear, dark orange appearance with a light brown head with medium retention. Toasty caramel malty, fairly spicy, herbal, orange citrusy, grassy aroma. Quite strong and a bit boozy. Fairly bitter, grapefruity, spicy/herbal hoppy, light toffee, caramel flavor with a slight metallic note. Aroma seemed alright but the nice flavors in the beer really seem to be dominated overly strong malty and boozy notes. Just seems a bit overdone.
