Description
Tydd Steam Brewery was founded in 2007 in a converted agricultural barn. The name derives from the two farm steam engines that were previously housed inside the building now used for brewing.
Tydd Steam Brewery was founded by Will and Anna Neaverson. After several years of brewing at home, and taking two brewing courses in York and Sunderland, they decided to set up his own micro brewery. The five barrel brewing plant was bought from Oldershaws Brewery in Grantham and brewing began in Summer 2007.
In 2009 original plant was sold and replaced with new 8 barrel (1312 litres) to cope with demand for our beers. In September 2010 this was again sold and replaced with much larger all new 15 barrel brew plant (2460 litres) to further increase brewing capacity. The Brewery was also extended with larger cellar, new Malt room, and cask washing area.
In April 2011 cask washer was replaced with new fully automated touch screen cask washer, to ease labour and cope with more cask.We are dedicated to producing handcrafted quality beers using only the finest quality malts and whole hops.

Cask at the Sussex Arms, Twickenham Green, 07/04/13. Hazed mid golden with a thin off white head. Nose carries pale malt, citrus, grass. Taste comprises orange pith, citrus, lemon rind, caramel, grass. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, dry in the finish. This beer had the advantage of following 2 veg soup twiggy messes so was going to come out well and to be fair it was a passable GB.

Hazy gold beer. Tidy white head. Slight sulphur on the nose. Palate is semi dry. Mellow grapefruit hops with a touch of peach. Mild even malt underneath. Semi dry finish. Quite a tasty little beer but not getting much Nelson at all.
